Singapore’s national carrier will bring its signature hospitality to Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 as it upgrades its lounges with expanded space, enhanced culinary offerings and a new design inspired by its flagship lounges in Terminal 3
Singapore Airlines is investing S$45 million to comprehensively overhaul its premium lounges at Changi Airport’s Terminal 2. The ambitious renovation project, scheduled to begin this month and culminate in mid-2027, promises to elevate pre-flight luxury with substantially expanded spaces, elevated culinary offerings and sophisticated design elements.
In a news release, Yeoh Phee Teik, senior vice president, customer experience at Singapore Airlines, announced: “This significant investment underscores Singapore Airlines’ unwavering commitment to elevating the end-to-end travel experience for our customers. Building on the success of our Terminal 3 lounges, we are extending our signature hospitality and thoughtfully curated offerings to Terminal 2. This upgrade reaffirms our continued dedication to providing a seamless, world-class experience that meets the high expectations of our discerning customers.”

The jewel in the crown of this extensive renovation will be the all-new First Class SilverKris Lounge. The space will feature dramatically higher ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the interior with natural light while offering expansive views.
There will also be live cooking stations serving a selection of Singaporean, Asian, and Western cuisine, complemented by an expanded self-service buffet mirroring the celebrated offerings currently available at the flagship Terminal 3 lounge. A bar experience completes space, with barista services during morning hours transitioning to premium cocktails as the day progresses.

A new type of Business Class
Business travellers will benefit from a substantial 30 per cent expansion of the Business Class SilverKris Lounge, offering a plush environment that accommodates various needs. Those seeking relaxation before long-haul flights can rest in a thoughtfully designed quiet area fitted with recliners.
The redesigned living room area will offer a range of seating options, including wingback chairs, sofas and productivity pods—allowing guests to effortlessly transition between work, dining and leisure. Complementing these spatial innovations, a new full-service bar will provide barista-prepared coffee during morning hours and signature cocktails in the evening, alongside an enhanced self-service buffet.

Perhaps the most dramatic planned transformation is reserved for the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge, which will double its current capacity. The renovated space will feature versatile seating arrangements including armchairs for relaxed lounging, dedicated workstations for business needs, and comfortable dining areas.
Notably, this lounge will introduce amenities previously unavailable to KrisFlyer Gold members at Terminal 2, including in-lounge restrooms and shower suites—allowing travellers to refresh before their onward journeys and elevating the experience for this segment of Singapore Airlines’s clientele.
In order to minimise disruption, the national carrier has developed a phased approach to this ambitious project. Construction of the new First Class SilverKris Lounge commences on April 15, 2025, with expected completion by the fourth quarter of 2025.
The Business Class SilverKris Lounge renovation follows, scheduled to begin in late 2025, with work on the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge commencing in the first half of 2026.
This substantial investment in the Terminal 2 lounges follows the successful renovation of Singapore Airlines’ Terminal 3 facilities. In May 2022, SIA unveiled its extensively renovated lounges at Changi Airport’s Terminal 3, following a S$50 million upgrade that commenced in August 2019. The redesign, executed by renowned hospitality designers Hirsch Bedner Associates, introduced a modern yet homely ambiance.
