Mandarin Oriental makes its Seoul debut in 2030 with André Fu design, destination dining and a four-floor spa

Seoul’s luxury landscape is set for a new chapter as Mandarin Oriental confirms its first South Korean outpost, opening in 2030. Located in the Central Business District north of the Han River, the boutique-style property will have 128 rooms and suites, designed by André Fu to balance understated elegance with the character of a private club. With its prime location, the hotel aims to place guests at the crossroads of the city’s cultural landmarks, business hubs and lifestyle destinations.

Mandarin Oriental, Seoul will give particular weight to dining. A signature restaurant on the 21st floor promises sweeping views of the capital, while the floor below will host three concepts: an international dining room inspired by SOMM at Mandarin Oriental, The Landmark Hong Kong, a refined Chinese restaurant and a high-end Korean Chef’s Counter offering a more theatrical experience. The ground floor will welcome guests with a lounge, a bar and the ever-present Mandarin Cake Shop.

Wellness is another priority. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental is set to span four floors with a 25-metre swimming pool, fitness centre, golf simulators and a multiball court. Rooted in traditional healing but paired with performance therapies, the spa’s design will use natural textures and ambient light to create an immersive retreat. A kids’s club, games room and outdoor terraces extend the offering.

The project, developed in collaboration with Hanwha Group, forms part of the wider Seoul Station redevelopment and signals the brand’s growing Asian footprint. Laurent Kleitman, group chief executive of Mandarin Oriental, described Seoul as a dynamic cultural and economic hub and positioned the hotel as a defining addition to the city’s hospitality scene.
