Il Sereno hotel opens its doors on Lake Como

Il Sereno Lago di Como, the five-star boutique residence designed by famed Milan-based architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, has officially opened for business -- marking the first new hotel on Lake Como in decades.

Located 6 km from the center of Como and 50 minutes from Milan, Il Sereno is the third property to join the Sereno Hotels portfolio after Le Sereno Hotel & Villas in St. Barthélemy and Villa Pliniana, also located on Lake Como, with this latest establishment featuring 30 suites, all with their own furnished terraces and lake views.

The grounds, a mix of contemporary design and understated elegance, also feature a private beach, infinity pool and gardens by botanist Patrick Blanc, as well as a signature restaurant, Ristorante Berton, helmed by decorated Milan restaurateur and Michelin star chef Andrea Berton, featuring a menu inspired by the region.
