Foster + Partners and former Disney Imagineer Bill Coan bring a revolutionary lifestyle destination to Bangkok, where AI measures visitor happiness
Bangkok is set to welcome Happitat, a next-generation lifestyle destination in the city’s ever-evolving Bangna district. Envisioned as a 200,000-square-metre playground for wellness, creativity and connection, the project unites Foster + Partners—the London architectural firm behind Apple Park and The Forestias Bangkok—with Bill Coan, a former Walt Disney Imagineer known for crafting some of the world’s most immersive theme park experiences.
Set to attract 19 million visitors annually, Happitat integrates people, nature and imagination into three distinct zones: Bloominas, a premium lifestyle hub with wellness and dining; Wonderwild, the ultimate family destination with edutainment spaces; and Festie Town, a semi-outdoor celebration centre for year-round events.

At the heart of Happitat lies an idea as radical as it is simple: happiness as a measurable goal. Through AI-enabled cameras that read smiles and emotional responses, the development generates a real-time Happiness Index—a continuous feedback loop that helps refine services and design experiences that genuinely uplift visitors. This use of technology and data to shape emotion forms part of Happitat’s vision for a “Smart and Happy Community Centre”, where wellbeing isn’t abstract, but designed, measured and nurtured.
Family life takes centre stage at Wonderwild, where a three-storey Whimsical Market glows beneath an illuminated tree animated by light, sound and kinetic sculptures. Within, the largest edutainment zone in Bangna offers creative workshops and skill-building programmes for both children and adults, alongside a sky-high playground that invites play at every age.

Bloominas’ rooftop restaurants are surrounded by pocket gardens, while Festie Town features a working urban farm that connects sustainability with the joy of sharing a meal. Daily Delicious, in Wonderwild, offers all-ages comfort food, complemented by a premium supermarket and curated marketplace showcasing Thai and international producers.
