ONE°15 Marina expands its prestigious network to Johor’s award-winning beachfront destination, transforming Desaru Coast into Southeast Asia’s next elite yachting hub

Nestled along Johor’s southeastern coastline, Desaru Coast is set to become Southeast Asia’s next prestigious sailing hub following a strategic partnership with Singapore’s esteemed ONE°15 Marina, a leading developer, operator and consultant of integrated marinas.

Announced at the Singapore Yachting Festival 2025, this collaboration heralds an exciting new chapter for maritime luxury in Malaysia’s pristine waters.

The partnership will establish ONE°15 Marina Desaru Coast, introducing sophisticated wet and dry berths at the Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal alongside curated sailing experiences for discerning guests. This development arrives amidst growing optimism surrounding the impending Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.

“This partnership catalyses the marine and leisure economy by placing our destination on the global yachting map—welcoming an international community of yacht owners, club members, and seasoned boaters in search of new and vibrant destinations,” said Karina Ridzuan, Director of Business Services at Destination Resorts and Hotels at the second day of the Singapore Yachting Festival 2025 at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove this week. Destination Resorts and Hotels is the owner and operator of Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal as well as the parent company of Desaru Ferry Sdn. Bhd.

For the yachting cognoscenti, Desaru Coast offers far more than spectacular moorings. This 4,000-acre destination hosts globally recognised accommodations including One&Only Desaru Coast and Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas, alongside the 45-hole Els Club Malaysia and the expansive Adventure Waterpark.

Arthur Tay, Executive Director and CEO of SUTL Enterprise, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “I’m excited about our partnership with Desaru Coast as we welcome a new marina personality into the growing ONE°15 network of marinas across Asia. My vision is to deliver unique experiences that enrich our community of members, boaters, and yachting enthusiasts across the region.”

Visitors arriving for September’s Ombak Festival 2025—Desaru Coast’s signature celebration of music, arts, and culture—will be amongst the first to experience the newly-launched marina facilities.

As Southeast Asia’s marine leisure sector continues its ascendancy, this collaboration reinforces Desaru Coast’s positioning as a world-class destination, further validating Time magazine’s recognition of the locale as one of the World’s Greatest Places in 2021 and signalling its boundless potential as Malaysia's crown jewel of coastal luxury.
