2026 年在濱海灣街道賽道舉行的 F1 新加坡大獎賽，將迎來新加坡史上首場 F1 Sprint 衝刺賽，讓觀眾在三天內都能享受到更加刺激的賽道對決，「我們很高興能成為 2026 年六個舉辦 F1 Sprint 衝刺賽的賽道之一。」新加坡賽事公司（Singapore GP Pte Ltd）總監 Jonathan Hallett 表示。2026 年的比賽將於 10 月 9 日至 11 日 舉行，Sprint 衝刺賽賽制將為周末注入額外看點。
隨著 Sprint 週末的到來，觀眾將期待更多高速衝刺與白熱化的比拼，因為將有更多積分可爭奪。根據新規則：
- 週五 的自由練習二（FP2）將被 Sprint Qualifying（衝刺排位賽） 取代，用以決定週六衝刺賽的發車順位。
- 週六 Sprint 衝刺賽取代自由練習三（FP3），隨後在晚間舉行 正賽排位賽，決定週日正賽的發車順位。
- 週日 將照常舉行 F1 正賽，為賽事週末劃下句點。
在自由練習時間減少的情況下，各車隊必須從一開始就找到最佳設定；而在三天內的每個環節，都有積分或發車順位攸關重要，這也意味著觀眾能獲得更高的觀賽價值。
