Here’s a breakdown of exactly how much Carlos Yulo is receiving when he returns
Yulo will be coming home to a windfall of blessings after touring the vibrant streets of Paris. His performance in the Men’s Floor Exercise and Men’s Vault at the 2024 Olympics earned him back-to-back gold medals, a lifelong legacy, and millions in properties and cash. In fact, the City of Manila is already arranging a grand welcoming parade upon his return. While the plans have yet to be finalised, Mayor Honey Lacuna is looking to hold it on Leveriza Street, Malate where Yulo grew up. To top it off, the local government also intends to designate August 4 as ‘Carlos Yulo Day’, commemorating his historic Olympic win.

The Filipino gymnast unlocks generational wealth as he gets substantial cash rewards from the government, private companies and philanthropists who are all proud of his achievements. Under the National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act or Republic Act No. 10699, Yulo will receive PhP20 million, while Coach Allen Aldrin Castañeda will receive PhP10 million from PAGCOR’s National Sports Development Fund. Additionally, the House of Representatives has promised PhP6 million—increased by another PhP8 million from the previously awarded figure after he won his second medal. He will also receive PhP2 million from the local government of Manila City, one for each gold he brings home. Private sector members, such as Megaworld Corporation and Bounty Fresh Group Holdings Inc, are also giving him PhP3 million each. His latest bounty comes from boxing legend and former senator Manny Pacquiao, who proudly congratulated the young athlete for representing the Philippines on the global stage.
As of writing, Yulo will be receiving a total of at least PhP34 million.
Update: Yulo has recently received an additional PhP20 million from the Office of the President, PhP5 million from former member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines Chavit Singson, and another PhP5 million from ArenaPlus, an online betting platform.
Monetary incentives aren’t all that he gets to enjoy, as he receives three properties from the public and private sectors. The first of which is a fully-furnished condominium at Megaworld’s McKinley Hill township in Taguig City. He was promised a two-bedroom condominium valued at PhP24 million before winning his second gold Olympic medal. This has since been upgraded to a three-bedroom unit valued at PhP32 million. “McKinley Hill is home to several world-class athletes, including members of the Philippine national teams for basketball and football. This makes it a perfect home for Filipino champions who live a life of passion and excellence through and through,” says Lourdes T Gutierrez-Alfonso, president of Megaworld, in a press release.

In addition to all the real estate and cash rewards, Yulo is also getting plenty of free lifetime food and services from local businesses, such as free meals at JT’s Manukan, free engineering designs from Nexa Engineering, and unlimited tourist visa application services for him and his girlfriend, Chloe San Jose, from Fil-Global Immigration Services Corporation, among many others.
