Asia’s first celebrity pro padel tournament, staged by TTB Sport at Dempsey’s Prime Padel, brought together Nicol David, Li Xiaopeng, George Gregan, and Simu Liu for a stylish new era of the world’s fastest-growing sport

In a city famed for spectacular sporting weekends, the Singapore Padel Invitational launched the Grand Prix festivities with an event that perfectly married world-class sporting competition with a polished lifestyle affair. Staged at Prime Padel in Dempsey, the tournament, Asia’s first celebrity pro padel event, effortlessly blended the adrenaline of professional sport with an elevated social experience, featuring Michelin-starred dining and a vibrant evening atmosphere.

The event, held on October 2, marked the international debut of TTB Sport—the force behind London’s prestigious Alfred Dunhill Padel Classic, the world’s premier celebrity pro padel tournament hosted at The Hurlingham Club in the UK, and instantly cemented Singapore’s position at the forefront of the sport’s swift acceleration across Asia.

Sir Andrew Strauss, England cricket legend and Executive Chair of TTB Sport said: “The Singapore Padel Invitational was our first international tournament following the success of The Alfred Dunhill Padel Classic. We are proud to have hosted some of the greatest names in Asian padel and international sporting icons.”

The Invitational was designed around a powerful central philosophy: shining a light on the work of Laureus Sport for Good, the charity dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children through sport. This mission drew a formidable attendance of international sporting icons and cultural figures.

Laureus Academy Members Li Xiaopeng, one of China’s most decorated gymnasts, and Nicol David, the former eight-time squash world champion, both graced the padel court. They were joined by the likes of Australian rugby legend George Gregan, Hollywood star Simu Liu, and James Vowles, Team Principal of Atlassian Williams Racing.

A new sporting community

On Centre Court, several exhilarating matches featured Asian and global padel professionals. The line-up included Pol Alsina (Asia’s Male No.1), Kotomi Ozawa (Asia’s Female No.1), Frankie Langan (Former Great Britain No. 1), Tim Brown (Australia’s No.1), Enzo Chua (Singapore’s Male No.1), and Rafa Vega (Former UK LTA No.1).

Commenting on the unique atmosphere of the tournament, Vega remarked: “Padel is not just about sport; it’s about community and connection... What made this event truly special was the way international, regional and local talent came together across the tournament, creating an atmosphere of excitement and unity that showcased the very best of padel.”

Beyond the star-studded exhibition, the tournament saw twelve corporate teams compete, with Sentosa Shipbrokers ultimately clinching the trophy after a spirited final against Mandala Club. The success of the night was underscored by the distinguished list of supporters, including Standard Chartered Private Bank, dunhill, IWC Schaffhausen, Mercedes-Benz, and Sanlorenzo. The inaugural Singapore Padel Invitational successfully established a new benchmark for exclusive sporting events in the region.
