雖然身體狀況不再像過去那樣完美，但 Kubica 並沒有離開賽車。他說：「我現在右手確實有很多限制，但我已經不記得過去是怎麼開車的了，這就是我現在的樣子。」他回憶自己剛復出時，走在賽場，總能感覺到旁人偷偷打量他的右手。但他不在乎：「比起賽道，我在日常生活中反而有更多不方便。」對他來說，開車反而成了最自然、最安心的事情。

Kubica 坦言：「我曾經懷疑自己，甚至想過要不要放棄。但我現在知道，我是這世界上最幸運的人，因為我正在做我最愛的事。」即使右手無法完全靈活，他還是重新學會用左手掌握賽車。他從來不為自己找藉口，也不靠悲情行銷。他清楚知道，自己仍舊是那個對勝利有渴望、對賽道有熱情的車手，「我不知道如果不開車，我能做什麼。賽車已經是我生活的一部分，我的每一天都是為了賽道而準備。」
