Catch the Duke in action this August as he plays against the Singapore Polo Club team at the 2023 Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup
Polish up your polo knowledge as Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, returns to Singapore on August 12 to participate in the 2023 Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup. Set to take place at the Singapore Polo Club, the annual event raises funds for children and young people affected by poverty, inequality and HIV/Aids in Southern Africa.
Founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006, Sentebale is a charity helping the needs of children and young people in Lesotho. In a press statement, the British royal says: “The annual Polo Cup is essential to Sentebale’s vital work ensuring children and young people are healthy, resilient and able to thrive.”

Since 2010, the annual Polo Cup have raised over £11 million to support the charity’s work. Funds raised from the Cup this year will go towards the charity’s various Clubs and Camps program that provide intensive psychosocial support to those living with HIV.
Come August 12, the Duke will play on the Royal Salute Sentebale Team, against the Singapore Polo Club Team. The latter is captained by charity ambassador Nacho Figueras.
Prior to his trip to Singapore, the Duke and Figueras will participate in a philanthropy summit in Tokyo on August 9. There, the duo will discuss the power of sport, community and philanthropy.

This isn’t the Duke’s first trip to Singapore. His last visit to the island was in 2017, where he played at the 2017 Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup to a crowd of over 300 guests who watched as he scored the winning ball for his team.
During his 2017 trip to Singapore, the Duke also met with various staff and volunteers of the non-governmental organisation Action For Aids where he learnt more about the challenges faced by the HIV-positive community in Singapore.
