The 2026–27 NBA season is only getting started, but the latest draft class is already giving fans plenty to talk about. Some have stepped into demanding roles from the opening tip, while others are still finding their feet after injuries or adjustments to the professional game. Yaxel Lendeborg (Golden State Warriors)

22.3 points · 7.3 rebounds · 3.7 assists per game

Yaxel Lendeborg has wasted no time making himself at home in Steve Kerr's rotation. The Golden State Warriors rookie has emerged as one of the most productive newcomers in the Western Conference, combining an impressive scoring touch with the versatility to contribute across the floor.

Through his first appearances, Lendeborg is averaging 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in approximately 32.3 minutes per game. Even more impressive is his efficiency: he is shooting 58.6 per cent from the field, a remarkable return for a player adjusting to the demands of the NBA.

His performance against the Los Angeles Clippers on 1 November offered an especially compelling demonstration of his offensive potential. Lendeborg finished with 37 points, four rebounds and six assists in 34 minutes, showing the kind of scoring ability that could make him an important part of Golden State's plans this season.

Cameron Boozer (Memphis Grizzlies)

17.7 points · 10.5 rebounds · 5.7 assists per game

Selected third overall in the 2026 NBA Draft, Cameron Boozer has already shown why the Memphis Grizzlies were eager to bring him into their frontcourt. Rather than easing him into the professional game, Memphis has handed the rookie significant starting responsibilities, and he has responded with the sort of all-round production that makes him particularly exciting to watch.

Across six appearances, Boozer is averaging 17.7 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game. Those numbers make him an early double-double threat, but his ability to create opportunities for teammates is arguably just as intriguing. His 5.7 assists per game suggest a level of playmaking that gives Memphis another dimension offensively.

Boozer's triple-double against Portland on 29 October was an early highlight, as he recorded 18 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. He followed that performance with 27 points against Sacramento on 31 October. His shooting percentages have room for improvement, particularly his 37.6 per cent overall field-goal conversion, but his 36.8 per cent accuracy from three-point range and 96.6 per cent from the free-throw line offer plenty of encouragement.

Darius Acuff Jr (Sacramento Kings)

26.3 points · 6.3 assists · 3.7 rebounds per game

If there is one rookie making an immediate statement as a scorer, it is Darius Acuff Jr. The Sacramento Kings guard has embraced a major offensive responsibility, producing some of the most eye-catching numbers of the incoming class and showing little hesitation about taking on opposing defences.

Acuff is averaging 26.3 points, 6.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds across six games, playing approximately 36.5 minutes per contest. What makes his scoring particularly impressive is that he is converting 47.4 per cent of his field-goal attempts despite carrying such a substantial offensive workload.

His 31 October meeting with Memphis was a performance to remember. Acuff poured in 38 points, adding five rebounds and five assists while knocking down nine three-pointers to match a rookie record. For a first-year guard already shouldering so much of Sacramento's offensive burden, it was a statement performance that suggests his scoring ceiling could be considerably higher.

AJ Dybantsa (Washington Wizards)

18.0 points · 4.5 rebounds · 1.5 assists per game

As the first overall selection in the 2026 NBA Draft, AJ Dybantsa arrived in Washington with considerable expectations. A left ankle sprain delayed his regular-season debut, forcing him to miss the opening week, but the Washington Wizards forward has begun showing why he was considered the standout prospect in his draft class.

Across his first two appearances, Dybantsa is averaging 18 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 28.5 minutes per game. He has also been efficient around the basket, converting 56.5 per cent of his field-goal attempts.

His debut against Cleveland produced 19 points, giving Wizards supporters an encouraging first look at their newest prospect. He followed that with 17 points and seven rebounds in Washington's 95–79 victory over the Charlotte Hornets. It is still early to draw sweeping conclusions from just two games, but Dybantsa's ability to score efficiently after an interrupted start is certainly worth watching.

Caleb Wilson (Chicago Bulls)

21.2 points · 6.7 rebounds · 2.5 assists per game

Caleb Wilson completes this group of standout NBA rookies, having quickly established himself as a regular contributor in the Chicago Bulls' frontcourt. His early performances have been particularly encouraging because of the range of ways he can influence a game, from scoring and rebounding to providing a presence around the rim.

Across six appearances, Wilson is averaging 21.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists, alongside an impressive 1.5 blocks per game. He is shooting 49.4 per cent from the field, giving Chicago a productive offensive option who can also make an impact defensively.

Wilson's best scoring performance so far came against Washington on 24 October, when he finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds. He followed it with another strong showing against Boston on 30 October, recording 23 points and five rebounds. If he can maintain this level of production while continuing to develop his defensive game, Wilson could become one of the more valuable young pieces in Chicago's rotation.
