The Asian Volleyball Confederation brings together 10 of Asia’s top all-female teams to Manila for this year’s Challenge Cup
Manila is witnessing an exciting week as it hosts top female volleyball players across Asia who are competing in the 2024 Challenge Cup, which is hosted by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC).
Representatives from Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, and the Philippines have gathered at the iconic Rizal Memorial Coliseum for this thrilling event, culminating in the highly anticipated finals on Wednesday.
The champions of the finals will earn the coveted opportunity to compete in the Volleyball World Challenger Cup, scheduled for July 4 to 7.

Vietnam returns to the competition with full force, deploying its strongest team to defend its tile and bolster its chances for another shot at the Volleyball World Challenger Cup.
Indonesia, last year’s runner-up, and Chinese Taipei, third placer, are introducing younger talents into the mix. Hong Kong and India are making their third consecutive appearances, while Kazakhstan marks its debut in the Manila competition.

The Philippines meanwhile formed Alas Pilipinas Women, made up of a healthy mix of seasoned pros from the Philippine Volleyball League and collegiate stars.
The team is led by Jia de Guzman, assisted by fellow setter Julia Coronel. Dell Palomata, Sisi Rondina, Cherry Nunag, Vanie Gandler, Dawn Macandili, Angel Canino, and Thea Gagate join the tandem. Faith Nisperos, Eya Laure, Jen Nierva, Fifi Sharma, and Arah Panique complete the team.
