If you and your friends have time to spare for fun activities, make sure that you spend it with these unique Filipino-made card games. In the list below are tabletop activities that will keep everyone up all night long.

1. Manila 2076
Manila 2076, conceived by local game designer Fred Tay, is a card game that portrays the Philippine capital as a cyberpunk city under the full control of powerful mega corporations. In the game, players will take the role of a group of insurgents or rebels who are keen on retrieving valuable data to gain their freedom.
Good for two to four players, the competitive game lasts up to 15 to 20 minutes and rewards the player who gets the most information.
2. Politricks

Just in time for the elections, Politricks comes in and tickles our emotions with hard-slapping truths drawn from local politics. Invented by two young entrepreneurs RB Ting and PJ Lim, the card game lets players step in the shoes of popular Filipino politicians who are willing to do anything to win the elections.
You and your pals will play as a bunch of 'dirty politicians' who can bribe or low blow rivals in order to gather more votes.

3. Talinghaga
With Talinghaga card game, players get the best of both worlds: have fun while also learning more about the Filipino language. Designed by Patricia "Patti" Ramos and Juan Miguel "Jam" Tolentino, the game consists of 90 syllable cards that players can string together to form Filipino words.
For example, someone from the group takes and combines the syllables "la" and "ro" to form "laro" which means to play.

4. Hugot

Who says "hugot" (or sentimental banter) is reserved for the lonely? The card game Hugot, which was invented by Thomas Regala, challenges players to purge themselves of wit and stress. Everyone in the team gets random cards with totally unrelated words.
The words that the "it" has picked or given to the players will be used later on to form one-liner phrases with a stinging impact. The person who captures the favour of the "it" wins.

5. Darna at Ang Nawawalang Bato

If you were raised in the Philippines, you are probably familiar with the superheroine Darna and her loyal sidekick Ding. In the card game Darna at Ang Nawawalang Bato, the players will step into the shoes of the iconic comic book character as she embarks on a journey to find her missing stone.
Every player is provided with five cards that correspond to different kinds of stones. Among these cards, only one is the "white stone" that will let Darna turn into her more powerful counterpart. The first player who gets the real stone wins.
