Kelvin Koh’s journey into the world of wedding photography is nothing short of inspiring. Over 21 years ago, the founder of Lightedpixels Photography stumbled into the profession almost by accident, shooting as a second photographer at a friend’s wedding.
What began as a favour quickly turned into a passion, as he found himself captivated by the raw emotions unfolding before him. “I realised then that I could photograph real emotions and real moments… and that was precious,” he reflects.
This revelation marked the beginning of Lightedpixels, a brand that would go on to revolutionise the wedding photography landscape in Singapore. The industry was once dominated by part-timers and traditional posed shots, but Kelvin dared to introduce a fresh perspective.

He was among the first to champion wedding photojournalism in Singapore, capturing candid moments that told compelling stories rather than merely documenting events. His innovative approach included outdoor pre-wedding portraits, moving away from the confines of studio settings, and even popularising destination shoots.
“I believed we could explore and do more with outdoor portraits for couples,” he explains, showcasing his willingness to experiment. Kelvin’s efforts did not go unnoticed. Over the years, Lightedpixels has garnered numerous accolades, including being named one of Tatler's Best of Singapore for 20 consecutive years. He takes pride in having mentored three generations of photographers who have since launched their own successful careers.
“It’s been a privilege to grow alongside… couples who now have their own family… [and now want us to] shoot their family portraits,” he shares, highlighting his brand’s evolution into family and pet photography through Fivestonesbylightedpixels. “Last year, we shot for over 350 families.”
Breaking away from traditional studio portraits, Kelvin and his team explore the great outdoors to create stunning pre-wedding memories.
