While there certainly isn’t a lack of players in the local wedding photography scene, there are only a handful of names that are reputed for their knack at capturing the most authentic and beautiful images. Experience counts, as much as creativity does, when it comes to creating impactful portraits of precious memories. LightedPixels knows this intimately, having spent two decades visually documenting the joyous unions of countless couples here and across the region.
In fact, the photography studio is one of the pioneering brands that popularised wedding photojournalism in Singapore, and is often credited for being the one that influenced a generation of photographers in the way they approach wedding photography.
Founded by photographer Kelvin Koh in 2003, it has since become known for its signature style—an ability to connect intimately with its clients, to capture the essence if couples' love stories, and to constantly stay ahead of the industry's ever-evolving trends be it in content creativity or technical equipment. Unsurprisingly, the company has built up an impressive portfolio of work, as well as satisfied clients that turn into life-long friends who come to it for all other milestones besides weddings.

The success of the brand is due to its distinctive style of wedding photography that separates it from others—LightedPixels’ work is always genuine, natural and emotive, while remaining enduring and timeless. Destination shoots are another of its key fortes. Besides passion, a desire and ability to connect on a sincere and meaningful level with the subject is key in wedding photography—both requisite qualities in each and every one of its photographers.
The leader of the team, Koh’s talents go beyond the field of wedding photography and is recognised for his wealth of experience. He has collaborated with Sony for the past six years, most recently for the launch of a new camera, a new lens, as well as its project with the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Koh also had the opportunity to work with Google on its Google Pixel phones, and Asus, for a project featuring its laptops and monitors. As a foremost expert in wedding work, he’s naturally held many workshops in Japan, Bali and here in Singapore, sharing his knowledge with fellow and budding wedding photographers.

His philosophy to photography? “Like good conversations, the best images are never forced, but taken when the subjects are most at ease. There is beauty in real emotion and real moments, which is why we’d rather take an imperfect but real image, instead of a perfect but staged image.”
This is the driving force that has kept LightedPixels in Tatler Singapore’s Best of Singapore (Wedding Photography) list for 17 consecutive years. The studio had also won numerous awards at international wedding photography contests—within its founding year, at that—including those given by the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association) and WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International).
To meet the growing demand it has steadily received over the years, the photography studio had started two offshoot studios. In 2008, LightedPixels Pixies was created as a junior brand staffed by young and talented photographers (mentored by the LightedPixels team), who can offer a more youthful take on wedding photography—also a more affordable option—to couples. Then, in 2019, FivestonesbyLightedpixels was started specifically for pet and family photography.
