The National Library of the Philippines (NLP) offered the public a free viewing of the ‘Rare Books and Manuscripts’ exhibit, featuring the original ‘Noli Me Tangere’ and ‘El Filibusterismo’ manuscripts of national hero Dr Jose Rizal
The National Library of the Philippines’ (NLP) Rare Books and Manuscripts revealed to the public the original manuscripts of Dr Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere, El Filibusterismo, and his original poem, Mi Ultimo Adios until November 29, 2022. The exhibition, located at the second-floor lobby of the NLP Building in T M Kalaw Street, Ermita, also allowed guests to see the Acta de la Proclamacion de Independencia del pueblo Filipino, other rare books, photographs, maps and memorabilia.

One of the exhibits’ special features was the provision of audio transcription for each display, an initiative especially implemented for visually challenged visitors. “Visit the National Library and catch this opportunity to have a glimpse of our national history and heritage,” the NLP said in its invitation.
