After a three-year hiatus, Ling Ling King, Patty Chilip and this magazine’s editor-in-chief, Anton San Diego, once again celebrated their joint birthday

It was supposed to be an annual event that started in 2019 but was halted by the pandemic and weather concerns, so you can imagine the trio’s joy to celebrate with their close family and friends again.

The venue was Manila House’s roof deck, with tall palm trees and black and white canopied tents lending an elegant backdrop. The handsome US-based singer and The Voice US alum Ryan Gallagher led the festivities, followed by three drag race artists who fired up the party.

Delicious roast turkey and salmon were part of the scrumptious spread that Manila House chef Gilbert Pangilinan prepared. But the pièce de résistance was the luxurious caviar bar prepared by Nomad Caviar. It was such a big hit that everyone was clamouring for their numbers and asking how to order.

When the celebrators were asked about their birthday wishes, Patty said, “Let’s be grateful to God for every day we have.” Anton added, “I want to thank Ling and Patty for their friendship and our destined path. My birthday wish will be for the country: the coming year will be one of more faith, hope, love and breakthroughs!”

“A joint birthday celebration with two dear friends is wonderful. We last did this in 2019, and I now celebrate with more gratitude and appreciation. I am delighted to commemorate this occasion again; I hope there will be another celebration next year. After all, we can only hope,” Ling Ling said.

Ling Ling, Patty and Anton, along with Patty’s husband Chris Chilip and Ricco and Tina Ocampo, all figured in the ill-fated helicopter crash that happened in 2015. The accident took two lives: the helicopter pilot and Archie King, Ling Ling’s husband.
