How did the Gumball 3000 Rally begin
The rally began in 1999 when British entrepreneur and founder of Gumball 3000 Maximillion Cooper invited his friends on a driving journey across Europe. Along the way, he also hosted glamorous parties that saw various celebrities in attendance including Kate Moss and Kylie Minogue. The event quickly gained attention and has continued to take supercars and entrants across the globe since.
On top of celebrity attendees, the rally has since attracted collaborations and partnerships with brands such as PlayStation, Nike and Google. Today, the rally has evolved into a week-long affair, featuring live music concerts, action sports, and spectacular car shows.
Gumball 3000 Foundation
In 2013, the entertainment group launched the Gumball 3000 Foundation, a charity that supports youth-based projects in low-income communities. Since its inception, the foundation has raised over £5 million (SGD$8.6 million) and has also invested in various recreational, education, and infrastructure-based projects. Some projects include Football Beyond Borders, Project Wreckless and Laureus Sport for Good.
