These upcoming Netflix romance K-dramas are about to become your next obsession

Fresh off the success of Netflix’s Can This Love Be Translated?, the Hong sisters reunite with Hotel Del Luna director Oh Choong-Hwan for the upcoming fantasy rom-com Grand Galaxy Hotel. Set in a luxurious hotel where recently departed spirits await their passage to the afterlife, the series marks the latest collaboration from the celebrated writing duo behind Hotel Del Luna, My Girl, My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho and Alchemy of Souls.

Lee Do-hyun (18 Again, Youth of May) stars as Eun-ha, the enigmatic new owner who takes over the hotel after its previous proprietor mysteriously disappears. Opposite him is Shin Si-a (Resident Playbook, Even If the Love Disappears from the World Tonight) as Sang-soon, the hotel manager and the only human employee on staff, who is unfazed by her ghostly guests. Rounding out the cast are Lee Soo-hyuk (Tomorrow, S Line) as Baek-gi, a grim reaper responsible for capturing evil spirits, and Lee Su-hyun (Family Matters) as Seok-san, whose unnerving presence sets her apart.

Park Hyung-sik, popular romantic lead of hit K-dramas such as Strong Woman Do Bong-soon, Soundtrack #1 and Doctor Slump, returns to the rom-com genre in the upcoming Netflix original series Fall In! Love. He stars as Na Jeong-seok, the capable CEO of an outdoor equipment company whose orderly life is thrown off course when someone from his past resurfaces.

Starring opposite him is Park Gyu-young (Celebrity, Sweet Home) as Woo A-mi, an elite former Special Forces officer nicknamed “Viper” who once commanded Jeong-seok when he was a timid recruit under her watch. Now a civilian, A-mi joins Jeong-seok’s company as its newest employee. While Jeong-seok has grown into a confident and respected CEO, A-mi struggles to adjust to life outside the military, setting the stage for an unconventional role-reversal workplace romance.

From Lee Jung-hyo, the director of the global K-drama hit Crash Landing on You, and Jung Hyun-jung, writer of Romance Is a Bonus Book, comes a Netflix rom-com K-drama starring Choo Young-woo (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, The Tale of Lady Ok) and Lee Se-young (The Red Sleeve, The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract).

Choo Young-woo stars as Demon 3375, a mysterious VVVIP guest at a seaside hotel who becomes inexplicably drawn to Lee Deul-pan, a hardworking but underappreciated hotel employee played by Lee Se-young. Powerful and accustomed to always getting his way, Demon 3375 has lived for aeons without ever understanding love. But as he grows closer to Deul-pan—the last person anyone would expect him to fall for—he begins to discover the very emotion that has long eluded him.

Talk about electric chemistry. Kim Young-kwang (On Your Wedding Day, Call It Love) and Chae Soo-bin (When the Phone Rings, Sweet & Sour) headline Netflix’s upcoming rom-com K-drama Take Charge of My Heart. Kim plays Baek Ho-rang, an astute and distinguished executive and chaebol heir whose seemingly perfect life hides an extraordinary secret: an artificial heart that threatens both his health and his future as the next leader of the family business. With time running out, an unexpected encounter offers him a chance to change his fate.

Chae Soo-bin stars as Na Bo-bae, a romance screenwriter whose life has been anything but romantic. Ever since being struck by lightning as a child, she has carried a powerful electrical charge that makes physical contact with other people nearly impossible. But when she discovers that touching Ho-rang not only poses no danger but actually powers his artificial heart, the unlikely pair strike an unconventional arrangement that gradually sparks something far more meaningful.

Imagine waking up in someone else’s body for one random hour every day. That’s the premise behind Netflix’s upcoming rom-com K-drama Love O’Clock, which puts a fresh spin on the beloved body-swap genre. Based on the Kakao webtoon 1/24 Romance, the series comes from True Beauty director Kim Sang-hyup and Business Proposal writers Han Sul-hee and Hong Bo-hui.

Shin Hae-sun (The Art of Sarah, Mr Queen) plays Cha Ju-an, a headstrong reality TV producer struggling to balance her chaotic career and personal life. Na In-woo (Marry My Husband, River Where the Moon Rises) stars opposite her as Yu Do-jin, a disciplined professional tennis player who approaches every aspect of life with intense precision. Forced to—quite literally—step into each other’s shoes for 60 minutes each day, the pair gradually gain a new perspective on life and, eventually, on each other.

Also arriving on Netflix in 2027 is the fantasy rom-com Beauty in the Beast, starring Kim Min-ju (Still Shining, Undercover High School) as Ha Min-soo, a young werewolf who has spent years learning to suppress her instincts. But when she starts college, her carefully controlled life is thrown into disarray after she becomes entangled in a love triangle with Hae-jun, a kind-hearted senior played by Moon Sang-min (Under the Queen’s Umbrella, To My Beloved Thief) and Do-ha, a fellow werewolf who has fully embraced his true nature, played by Lomon (All of Us Are Dead, No Tail to Tell).

Determined to experience life like any other university student, Min-soo is committed to keeping her transformation under control. However, as her feelings deepen and the pressures of young adulthood mount, she finds it increasingly difficult to hide who she really is. Blending first love, self-discovery and the supernatural, Beauty in the Beast promises to be a coming-of-age romance with a fantasy twist.

From supernatural soulmates and ghostly hotels to body swaps, werewolves and electric encounters, Netflix’s upcoming romance K-dramas promise plenty of reasons to fall in love with K-dramas all over again.
