‘A Shop for Killers’ season 2 cast: returning stars and new assassins

Lee Dong-wook is back as Jeong Jin-man, a devoted uncle to his niece Jeong Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun) and a former elite operative who runs Murthehelp, a clandestine online weapons shop catering to mercenaries and assassins. In season one of the Disney+ hit series, Jin-man is presumed dead and appears in flashbacks, caring for and training Ji-an in lethal combat.

In A Shop for Killers 2, audiences finally learn what he’s been up to while he was MIA. As the world of Babylon, the criminal syndicate Jin-man and Ji-an are up against, expands to bring deadlier foes from its East Asian faction, uncle and niece must mend their strained relationship if they want to work together and survive.

Having successfully defended Murthehelp from those seeking to take it over, Jeong Ji-an, played by Kim Hye-jun, returns smarter and stronger. That’s not to say she’s willing to jump back into the fray. Physically and psychologically scarred from the events of the first season, Ji-an takes on a new identity and moves to a remote fishing village.

Just as she’s beginning to let her guard down—even finding romance with local boy Woo-jin (Yoo Hyeon-soo)—Babylon comes to blow up her life, literally and figuratively, forcing her to switch from defence to offence. Pushed to the point of no return, she finally embraces her uncle’s legacy and takes over as Murthehelp’s new CEO.

In the second season, Jo Han-sun’s sociopathic Bale is still obsessed with settling his vendetta against Jin-man. Babylon’s new leadership keeps him around, but for them he’s nothing more than a hound dog whose sole purpose is to sniff out Jin-man’s whereabouts. He’s effective and lethal, but he’s also a loose cannon who wouldn’t think twice about turning on his masters. He serves no one but himself and honours no mission but his own.

A Shop for Killers 2 also sees the return of fan-favourite character So Min-hye, the S-class assassin loyal to Jin-man. Highly skilled in gunplay, knife fights and hand-to-hand combat, Min-hye single-handedly taking down a team of mercenaries is one of season one’s standout scenes, and Geum Hannah’s performance left quite an impression with audiences.

Fans of the series have come to know Min-hye as a dependable ally and an older-sister stand-in for Ji-an. In the second season, she comes in clutch once again, rescuing Murthehelp’s heir from the Babylon henchmen sent to kidnap her.

So Min-hye isn’t the only beloved character—and one of Jin-man’s most trusted allies—returning in season two of Disney+’s acclaimed action thriller. Kim Min is back as Pasin, the Muay Thai master who trained Ji-an and became one of her strongest sources of support in season one. As Jin-man launches his counterattack against Babylon, Pasin once again stands by his side, proving himself to be one of Murthehelp’s most reliable fighters.

Rounding out the cast of returning favourites is Lee Tae-young as Brother, Murthehelp’s logistics expert and operations coordinator. While he leaves the heavy combat to the rest of the team, mild-mannered Brother keeps the organisation running behind the scenes, coordinating missions, managing intelligence and ensuring every operation goes according to plan. In season two, he takes on an even bigger challenge as he’s tasked with building Murthehelp 2.0—a larger, more sophisticated version of the underground network to support Jin-man and Ji-an’s escalating war against Babylon.

After failing to contain the Murthehelp fiasco and losing Babylon’s main server to Jin-man, Jin Kusanagi, regional head of the syndicate’s East Asia branch, is dispatched to Korea to execute a hostile takeover. Played by Jung Yun-ha, who K-drama fans may recognise as the cold and manipulative ex-wife in Netflix’s The Trunk, Jin is more a strategist than a frontline fighter.

Power-hungry and ruthless, she uses deception and cunning to achieve her goals. Her determination to capture Jin-man and re-assert Babylon’s authority puts her on a collision course with both uncle and niece.

One of the most intriguing new additions to A Shop for Killers season two is Hyunri as Q, the formidable leader of Babylon’s field operatives tasked with capturing Jin-man and Ji-an. Early in season two, viewers are introduced to her history with Jin-man. Having met years ago on a rescue operation gone awry, it is actually Q who scouted Jin-man for Babylon. The two share a moment during their first encounter that may hint at a connection, or at the very least, a mutual attraction. It’s interesting to see where that might lead in future episodes, even as they face off as enemies. 

Audiences may remember Hyunri from Netflix’s Can This Love Be Translated? and Alice in Borderland: Season 3, as well as Apple TV’s Pachinko. She also starred in Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy, Love You as the World Ends and season two of HBO Max’s Tokyo Vice.

Another notable addition to A Shop for Killers season two is celebrated Japanese actor Masaki Okada as J, a highly skilled Babylon assassin eager to prove himself and earn a promotion to team leader. He is Q’s younger brother and Jin Kusanagi’s lover, placing him at the centre of several key relationships within the syndicate and setting the stage for one of the season’s most pivotal conflicts.

Okada is best known for his role as Kōji Takatsuki in the Oscar-winning film Drive My Car. His other notable credits include the 2009 romance film I Give My First Love to You and the hit J-drama Omameda Towako and Her Three Ex-Husbands.

With familiar allies returning, formidable new enemies entering the fray and Babylon’s reach extending far beyond Korea, the A Shop for Killers season two cast raises the stakes in every way. Whether you’re catching up before binge-watching or looking to learn more about the actors behind the action, this guide covers every major player shaping Disney+’s explosive second season.
