More than halfway through season 3, and none of us know exactly what's going on in The White Lotus, thanks to the masterful writing of showrunner Mike White. Yet we stay at the edge of our seats thanks to its roster of chaotic characters. Set against the lavish backdrop of Thailand, this season continued its dissection of wealth, power and moral decay that’s been its theme from the beginning.
From unhinged white privilege to calculated deception, the latest instalment gives viewers personalities as unsettling as they were watchable. Here are the eight most (delightfully) unhinged characters from The White Lotus season 3 in no particular order, each bringing their own brand of chaos to paradise all while making the likes of Rick seem normal.

1. Saxon Ratliff
From the get-go, Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) was the season's agent of chaos—but now, nobody knows. A walking embodiment of excess, Saxon personifies White Lotus’ continued critique of unchecked wealth. His self-indulgent hedonism peaks during a yacht party where, under the influence, he finds himself in a deeply unsettling moment with his brother. Reckless, entitled and completely unaware of his own depravity, Saxon’s presence is as magnetic as it is disturbing.
2. Lochlan Ratliff
Sam Nivola’s Lochlan exists in his brother’s shadow, yet his own trajectory is just as troubling. Sweet and innocent Lochlan isn't so innocent after all? While Saxon is openly brash, Lochlan wrestles with his desires and upbringing, leading to one of the season’s most shocking moments. His internal conflict does little to redeem his increasingly erratic behaviour, proving that privilege and dysfunction go hand in hand at the White Lotus resort. He's a frontrunner for most unhinged, for sure.
3. Victoria Ratliff
Played by Parker Posey, Victoria is the chaotic neutral fan favorite, mostly for her hilariously out-of-touch one-liners. The matriarch of the Ratliff family, Victoria is a portrait of wealthy detachment. Her reliance on prescription medication and general disconnect from reality make her both tragic and absurd. While she drifts through the season in a state of medicated oblivion, her influence over her family’s dysfunction is undeniable.
4. Jaclyn Lemon
Michelle Monaghan’s Jaclyn starts off composed, but her veneer quickly cracks. Her impulsive decision to have an affair with her wellness advisor, despite her marriage, showcases the self-destructive tendencies that thrive in the White Lotus’ privileged microcosm. Desperate for validation, she spirals further as the season progresses. Although perhaps less unhinged compared to the other visitors at the resort, Jaclyn would still set off pretty much all the friendship red flags in real life.
5. Frank
Sam Rockwell’s Frank arrives as a wildcard, shaking up the social dynamics with unfiltered honesty. His now-legendary monologue about addiction, gender identity and past scandals add an unpredictable energy to the season. While other characters mask their dysfunction, Frank wears his chaos openly, making him one of the more compelling figures this season.
6. Valentin
A supposed wellness guru with a questionable past, Valentin (Arnas Fedaravičius) embodies the season’s theme of deception. His charm masks a darker edge, particularly in his flirty, at times manipulative relationship with Jaclyn, Kate and Laurie. Although it's difficult to put a finger on it, there's something quite dark about him. Is he truly unhinged or is he just another playboy? We'll have to wait and see.
7. Gary/ Greg Hunt
Jon Gries’ Greg Hunt—now going by Gary—re-emerges with yet another scheme. Believed to have orchestrated his wife’s murder in season 2, his reappearance confirms that some people simply can’t resist a well-placed con. As White Lotus season 3 unfolds, his motives become clearer, proving once again that no one checks into this resort without an agenda.
8. Fabian
The enigmatic and morally ambiguous concierge, Fabian (Christian Friedel) is always one step ahead of the guests—and always just an inch away from saying something cancel-worthy. He exudes the demeanor of a man who is just insecure enough to plot against everyone who has done him wrong and judging by his suspicious actions of late, it looks like he is doing just that. Whether he is orchestrating secret liaisons or hiding illicit dealings, his presence adds an extra layer of intrigue to the resort.
