This year, there is new music and fun pop stars to discover! Here is Tatler’s list of next-gen pop icons to follow
The early 2000s relied on Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Kylie Minogue for pop anthems that defined a generation—bold, catchy and unapologetically fun. Many call the era as the “golden age of pop music,” marked by the rise of MTV icons, bubblegum hits and arena-filling choruses.
Then came the next wave: Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Beyoncé, whose music not only ruled the charts but also reshaped the genre with braver statements, vocal power and theatrical flair. Together, these female artists built a blueprint for modern pop stardom.
Today, new names are on the rise. We list the next-gen pop queens in this article!

Chappell Roan has been on the pop music radar since the release of her 2023 album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. Her storytelling and theatrical performances garnered critical acclaim, with tracks like Good Luck, Babe! and Pink Pony Club resonating with fans for their raw emotion and unapologetic queer narratives.

She’s short, ditzy and adventurous. Sabrina Carpenter has been in the industry for more than a decade, but her pop music gained a major breakthrough with the release of Emails I Can’t Send in 2022. The album marked a turning point in her musical career, thanks to its witty storytelling and playful beats that showcased her evolution from a Disney star to a fully-realised pop artist.
With hits like Nonsense and a fearless sense of humour both online and on stage, Carpenter has proudly built a distinct space in the pop landscape, one that's charming, chaotic and totally her own.

While her transition from being an online personality to a full-blown pop artist was not taken seriously at first, she was able to carve a respectable name for herself when she had her acting debut in Netflix comedy He’s All That (2021) and horror movie Thanksgiving (2023).
The artist gained further recognition when she produced Diet Pepsi, which received widespread acclaim and even climbed to number 54 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
