A night of nostalgia, music and Y2K flair, Tatler Malaysia's Neon Hours: The Party revived the spirit of 2000s partying with style, energy and unforgettable moments at Lane23
The 2000s were an era when partying felt larger-than-life, fuelled by a heady mix of bold fashion and infectious pop culture. Nights out meant low-rise jeans, bedazzled camis, trucker caps, metallic eyeshadow and butterfly clips, all inspired by MTV icons and red-carpet starlets. Music shaped everything—the era’s pop princesses, boyband anthems, R&B slow jams and punk-rock hits created the soundtrack of a generation, blasting from club speakers and burned onto homemade mixtapes.

True to its throwback roots, the dress code leaned heavily into late 1990s and early 2000s MTV-era fashion. Guests showed up in true noughties fashion, it was like stepping into a time capsule full of Y2K dreams.
The night felt like a reunion of fashion icons from the heyday of MTV, with each guest adding their own modern twist to the era’s unmistakable aesthetic.
As the night drew to a close, the glow of neon lights and the beat of Y2K hits lingered in the air, leaving guests with a sense of shared nostalgia and joyful energy. Neon Hours wasn’t just a party; it was a celebration of an era when self-expression, bold fashion and carefree fun ruled the night. The party may have been a prelude to the ball season, but it proved that a little nostalgia can create a night to remember.
