Spotify Wrapped 2024 is here! Read on to know the artists that Filipinos listened to all year round
Music has a profound influence on Filipinos. Last Wednesday, Spotify revealed its annual Spotify Wrapped, celebrating the fans, artists, and creators who significantly impacted the year.
Globally, Taylor Swift reigns as Spotify’s 2024 global top artist for the second year in a row, followed by The Weekend, Bad Bunny, and Billie Eilish.
In the Philippines, passionate fan bases are pushing emerging local artists and homegrown genres to greater heights. Hev Abi leads the charge as this year’s Spotify Wrapped Philippines’ top local artist, leading Bini, Arthur Nery, TJ Monterde, and folk-pop band Ben&Ben, respectively.

In an interview, Hev Abi reflects on the recognition he has been receiving. “It’s not surprising to me—I am sure every artist wants to be a leading figure in some way somehow. But I also like to think that staying steady and always being grateful is not surprising,” he says.
“As for me, I just create the music I want to listen to. The recognition from people, from Spotify, that's just a bonus. I’m thankful that many are enjoying and relating to my music, and I guess that's probably why it’s said that I represent the new sound of Pinoy hip-hop.”

Homegrown hits such as Babaero, a collaboration between Gins&Melodies and Hev Abi topped the Philippines’ Top Songs in 2024. This was followed by Maki’s Dilaw, Dionela’s Sining featuring Jay R, Hev Abi’s Walang Alam, and Bini’s Pantropiko.
As for the podcasts, the Philippines showed a strong appetite for local and diverse content, with love, relationships, and horror dominating the charts. Barangay Love Stories and Dear MOR secured the first and third spots, respectively, while Skypodcast landed fifth.
Meanwhile, Sitio Bangungot-Pinoy Horror Stories for Sleep Podcast and Kwentong Takipsilim Pinoy Tagalog Horror Stories podcast claimed the second and fourth spots.

“This year has been incredible. We are thrilled to celebrate the vibrant and diverse music landscape through Spotify Wrapped 2024, a reflection of how fans connect and champion their favourite artists on the music streaming platform,” says Gustav Back, Spotify’s managing director for Southeast Asia.
“Filipino music continues to break into new spaces like never before, and we are excited to continue working closely with local creators to bring their crafts to more audiences.”
