Here’s how to maximise the public holidays happening in Singapore next year
It’s only the middle of the year, but it’s never too early to start planning your holidays for 2026, especially as the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has announced its public holiday calendar for the upcoming year.
In 2026, there will be 11 gazetted public holidays, including six long weekends—a great opportunity to book a quick getaway. But, if you’re willing to part with a day’s leave, you’ll get one four-day leave with New Year’s Day (January 1) falling on a Thursday, and one five-day leave with Chinese New Year (February 17 and 18) falling on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Public holidays that fall on a Sunday (with the next Monday being a designated public holiday):
- Vesak Day (May 31)
- National Day (August 9)
- Deepavali (November 8)
Public holidays that fall on a Friday:
- Good Friday (April 3)
- Labour Day (May 1)
- Christmas Day (December 25)
Other holidays:
- New Year’s Day (January 1)
- Chinese New Year (February 17 and 18)
- Hari Raya Puasa (March 21)
- Hari Raya Haji (May 27)
