Artistic director of SRT Gaurav Kripalani says: “We stay true to the text, but set the production in a contemporary setting in order to make the show relatable to audiences today. The fact that a play can still remain relevant 450 years later is a testament to the genius of Shakespeare.”
Set in Athenia, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a comedy consisting of several interconnecting plots that revolve around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. The play is filled with witty wordplay and comedic scenes.
This year’s play is directed by award-winning Guy Unsworth and stars Julie Week, Ghafir Akbar and Krish Natarajan.
Whether you are looking for a date night idea or something fun to do with the family, head down to Fort Canning Park for a night of magic and mischief.
Shakespeare in the Park will run from now until May 28.
