‘Ang Bagong Kampeon’
It all began with a dream and a powerful voice. At just 14, Regine joined the iconic talent show Ang Bagong Kampeon in 1984 under the name “Chona Velasquez.” Her raw talent and determination caught the eye of manager Ronnie Henares, who would later rebrand her as Regine—and the rest, as they say, is history.
