It looks like the royal couple will be moving closer to Queen Elizabeth and putting their children in a new school in Windsor before the new school year begins

It looks like Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children are ready to say goodbye to the hustle and bustle of London as they reportedly have plans to move to Windsor, in Berkshire county, this year.

According to British news outlet The Sunday Times, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge plan to make Windsor their new home base. They also plan to take Prince George and Princess Charlotte out of their school, Thomas’s Battersea, and enrol them at a new school near Windsor before the new school year begins in September.

“The reality is they are quite confined in what they can do in London,” a source close to the couple said. “The kids can’t go into the park and kick a football with friends. Their plan is to be there for the next 10 to 15 years and then move to Anmer, which is so special to them.”

The Cambridges are expected to keep their residence in London and their home in Norfolk, Anmer Hall, despite the move.

The move will also put the young royal family in closer proximity to Queen Elizabeth who lives at Windsor full-time, and to Middleton’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, who live in Bucklebury.

While it has yet to be confirmed, it would seem that the recently refurbished four-bedroomed Adelaide Cottage is the family’s first choice of residence at Windsor. The cottage is a short walk from Windsor Castle and is perfect for the small family who is reportedly aiming to reduce their reliance on live-in staff.
