Prince William Turns 40: Here Are His Cutest Moments as a Dad

Over the years, Prince William has proven to be a hands-on and involved dad to his three young children. Here are his cutest moments with them over the years

Prince William has hit the big 4-0 and in typical royal fashion, he was showered with birthday wishes, throwback photos and more by his family on their social media accounts.

William’s father, Prince Charles, and his stepmother, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, kicked it off with an adorable slideshow of images of William as a baby along with a few snaps of him as a teenager and then an adult.

The Royal Family’s official Twitter also sent out a heartwarming birthday thread for the future king that detailed key events in the prince’s life, beginning with his birth.

“Prince William Arthur Philip Louis is the elder son of The Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales. He was born at 9.03 pm on 21 June 1982, at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London,” the tweet began. It then went on to highlight some of his more prominent moments such as when he graduated from university, his marriage and his charitable works.

Prince William responded to the outpouring of birthday wishes with a tweet that read, “Thank you for all the happy birthday messages today!” He signed the message “W” for William.

To celebrate his birthday, the prince, who engages significantly with philanthropic causes, chose to highlight a cause close to his heart, homelessness.

Ahead of his birthday, Prince William took to the streets to sell copies of the Big Issue Magazine, a British-based street newspaper offering employment opportunities to people in poverty.

In the magazine is an essay by the prince that details a time he visited a homeless shelter with his mother when he was only 11.

“I was 11 when I first visited a homeless shelter with my mother, who in her own inimitable style was determined to shine a light on an overlooked, misunderstood problem. In the 30-odd years since, I’ve seen countless projects in this space grow from strength to strength,” he wrote.

“I wanted to experience the other side and see what it was like to be a Big Issue vendor,” he continued. “My time was truly eye-opening. I have always believed in using my platform to help tell those stories and to bring attention and action to those who are struggling. I plan to do that now I’m turning 40, even more than I have in the past. So, for my part, I commit to continue doing what I can to shine a spotlight on this solvable issue not just today, but in the months and years to come.”

As we celebrate Prince William on his special milestone birthday, we also want to honour the amazing father he is to his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

From guiding them as they are introduced to royal life to consistently being involved in their lives, the prince has set an incredible example to fathers everywhere.
