On top of a lavish afternoon tea spread, Tatler community members rubbed shoulders with British golf star Paul Casey and former race car driver Timo Bernhard
Last Thursday (March 20), golf enthusiasts and the Tatler community were invited to the Porsche Singapore Classic 2025 Tournament. The event saw guests braving the rainy weather to arrive at Laguna National Golf Resort Club, where the event was held.
As part of the DP World Tour, Porsche Singapore Classic 2025 (which was scheduled from March 20 to 23) brought together international top golfers as well as sports cars and golf enthusiasts to Laguna National Golf Resort. The exceptional golf course is known as one of the finest in Asia, thanks to its revered 36-hole championship golf course and an extensive range of golfing facilities.
The tournament saw golfers play Laguna National’s Classic Course, one of the most difficult courses in Asia, featuring hilly terrain, over 146 bunkers and undulating putting surfaces. Villas and Pavilions around the course allowed spectators to watch the exciting game away from the scorching heat once the downpour was over. Off the course, golf enthusiasts could take part in three-hole putting challenges, enjoy live music performances and more.

While the tournament’s opening round was postponed due to the monsoon surge, spirits remained high in the Porsche villa where guests were kept dry. The afternoon began with rounds of champagne and afternoon tea bites as guests mingled and explored the villa which overlooked the expansive golf course. Despite the rain, guests were able to get up close and personal with various Porsche models, including the Macan, 911 and Spyder RS, which were showcased around the club.

Along with the afternoon tea session, guests were treated to an intimate meet-and-greet session with British golf star Paul Casey and former race car driver Timo Bernhard. Casey, a three-time Ryder Cup winner and Porsche brand ambassador, shared his love for the game, Porsche and Singapore. He said: “I’ve been lucky to win the Porsche European Open before in Germany and I would dearly love to win in Singapore.”
Following Casey’s remarks, Bernhard shared: “[Casey] gave me my first official golf lesson … it was a great honour [to have him] teach me some of his lessons and tricks.”
The afternoon continued as guests had the opportunity to meet the golfer and race car driver, taking photos and signing golf balls as keepsakes, making the afternoon all the more memorable.
Although the tournament was delayed on March 20, the skies cleared up the next day and the tournament resumed. The next few days saw exciting games with British golfer Richard Mansell receiving the prestigious title on the final day. His first tour victory, Mansell played a stunning final round and hit an impressive birdie on the Classic Course’s 18th hole.
