Cover On stage and in song, Phung Khanh Linh reveals the beauty of stillness, offering a moment of peace amid her powerful discography.

In “Tam su voi dem mot minh”, Phung Khanh Linh trades anthemic energy for intimate reflection, inviting listeners into her most personal space.

In between the thorny soundscapes of Uoc Anh Tan Nat Con Tim, Em Dau and Khoc Block, Phung Khanh Linh unexpectedly lays down a hushed note. Tam su voi dem mot minh, the new single she unveiled on the fourth night of her Off The Record tour, is exactly that: neither loud nor explosive, but a moment of speaking only to herself in the loneliest hours.

Carrying an alternative pop/indie rock sensibility, the song was written by Linh herself and co-produced with Carson Hogan (The Wildlife) and Blossom, the duo behind Uoc Anh Tan Nat Con Tim and Em Dau. Stripped of pounding drumbeats and defiant guitar riffs, Tam su voi dem mot minh stands like a full stop at the end of a sentence, bringing the narrative to a contemplative pause, where emotions ease and peace quietly returns.

If the previous three singles represented slices of hurt and anger, this one serves as the emotional conclusion to Giua mot van nguoi. It was also the first track Phung Khanh Linh wrote for the album, the cornerstone that shaped the spirit of the entire project. “The album was meant to be released this summer, but I felt it wasn’t ready,” she shared. “I needed to experience more sadness to write Giua mot van nguoi.”

The surprise launch at Ciné Saigon on the evening of 9 August made the audience the very first to hear the track. Amid the frenzy of hits like Can Gac Mua He, Quy Co Say Xin and Sai Gon Om Lay Em, Linh slipped away from the stage, only to return with an electric guitar, leading listeners into the light and shadow of Tam su voi dem mot minh. Music lovers not only discovered a new song, but also stepped into Linh’s innermost world – a door she rarely leaves ajar.
