Let's admit it—even our favourite songs are no match for the ravages brought by time. The lyrics we used to sing nonstop, the riffs we hum excessively, and the tracks we sing on karaoke nights may fade into the background when new hits take over the radiowaves.
This is why it's important for other artists to cover songs. This way, audiences are presented with varying renditions that immortalise their favourite tracks. In this article, Tatler lists some of the most iconic song covers by esteemed Korean stars.
1. Blackpink's Rosé and Shinee's Onew: 'Lucky' by Jason Mraz
There is nothing better than listening to the sweet voices of BLACKPINK's Rosé and SHINee's Onew. In a star-studded episode of JBTC's Sea Of Hope, a new variety program in which celebrities perform music and prepare homemade dishes for guests at their own seaside bar, Rosé and Onew sang Jason Mraz' 2009-hit song Lucky.
The two Kpop idols' chemistry left the audience in awe. In an interview, Rosé explained that they picked Mraz' single because it suited the setting of the show. “This is a song I listened to a lot on the radio back when I was in school, and I chose it because I thought it was a song that was well-suited to the night sea.”
