In celebration of the festival’s 15th year, the opening ceremony hosted by the Japan Foundation will be held at the newly renovated Manila Metropolitan Theatre no less—the architectural gem built during the “silent films era” in the Philippines. This will be followed by the screening of the Futagawa Buntaro’s action film, Orochi (Serpent) with the Munimuni band performing the score in the background.
