The upcoming drama will see the popular Hallyu stars on screen together for the first time
It’s official, Hallyu stars Gong Yoo and Song Hye-kyo are set to star in the upcoming K-drama Slowly, Intensely. The highly anticipated project will see the duo on screen together for the first time. This announcement follows Song’s latest role in supernatural thriller The Priests 2: Dark Nuns and Gong’s role in Squid Game 2.
The upcoming drama is written by It’s Okay, That’s Love’s screenwriter Noh Hee-kyung and directed by K-drama classic Coffee Prince’s Lee Yoon-jung. Commencing production earlier this year, the series takes us back to Korea in the 1960s and 1970s and tells the story of those in the broadcasting industry.

On January 12, the Autumn in My Heart star appeared on Korean talk show Yoo Quiz on the Block sporting a fresh, short haircut, highlighting that it was in preparation for Noh’s latest project.
“I cut my hair for my next project [by] writer Noh Hee-kyung. It’s a period drama set in the ‘60s and ‘70s,” she explained. The upcoming series will be Song’s third collaboration with the famed screenwriter.
While further details on the series along with the actors’ respective characters are still kept under wraps, the internet is already buzzing with excitement.
