From meeting a cute boy in Disneyland to moving on from an ex, social media star Bretman Rock's autobiography will put you on a rollercoaster of emotions

As if the name Bretman Rock isn’t kooky enough, wait until you see the person answering the moniker. Comical, straightforward, and "very very very" entertaining—internet superstar Bretman Rock Sacayanan Laforga is beloved by millions of his followers.

Bretman Rock, currently based in Hawaii, rose to fame when one of his makeup videos went viral in 2015. Since then, he has graced glossy magazines such as Playboy, Nylon, Teen Vogue, and more.

The social media star first traversed the world of beauty vlogging, but in more recent times, it is safe to say that there is nothing in particular that he enjoys doing most. In the years that passed, his fans noticed one thing: Bretman Rock learnt to embrace versatility—today he calls himself a singer, songwriter, actor, actress, athlete, activist, scientist. . .and recently, author.

"To be honest with you, I think there are lots of people out there who are just good at one thing and they’re really good at it? But for me, as someone who has ADHD, I just have so much interest in everything. It just came naturally to me."

People with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD tend to have an ongoing pattern of inattention or hyperactivity-impulsivity. They may also seek out stimulation and hyperfocus on a source when they find it. Adults diagnosed with ADHD often jump from one interest to another in short spans of time.

The title of Bretman Rock’s new book does not come with a filter. You're That Bitch: & Other Cute Lessons About Being Unapologetically Yourself, which he introduced in February, is an autobiography that reveals fragments of his exciting life.

While the social media personality acknowledges that perception varies for everybody, he remains hopeful that his story somehow leaves the readers with one common experience.

"My goal with the book is representation. I want readers to feel represented in this book. I hope it kind of hands you a mirror," he said.

"I think everyone’s experience in life is unique–but I wrote so much about myself in the book, and I hope there is at least one chapter you can relate to, whether it’s being an immigrant, learning a new language, meeting someone in Disneyland, going to a different country, having divorced parents, and whatnot," he added.

Bretman Rock is currently in the Philippines for a series of book signing events and explained that his new write-up also seeks to empower its readers one page at a time.

"My best quality is that I genuinely love people—don’t tell anyone I said that!" he said jokingly. "I do love being around people. I love talking and meeting new people. I also love myself, and I think that is very self-explanatory. I think it's very important to be true to yourself because obviously—even when we hear this all the time—there's truly just one of you."
