In 2025, geekdom is no longer a hidden hobby but a badge of honour. These celebrity nerds have proven that being smart, passionate and a little obsessive isn’t just charming—it’s Hollywood gold

For a long time, being a nerd meant basement board games, fanfiction forums and explaining the difference between a Paladin and a Ranger to someone who definitely did not ask. But today’s celebrity nerds are flipping the script, proving that you can be drop-dead gorgeous, know Elvish and explain the pros and cons of Aragorn and Jon Snow. Whether they’re painting Warhammer figurines or rolling a Nat 20 in front of millions, these stars are living proof that nerd culture is the new Hollywood cool.

1. Henry Cavill

The Witcher star is one of the most popular celebrity nerds currently. Henry Cavill is not just swinging swords on screen—he famously built his own gaming PC in a now-iconic tank top moment that nearly broke the internet. A lifelong gamer and fan of Warhammer 40,000, Cavill speaks fluent nerd and once corrected a reporter who confused World of Warcraft with Warcraft.

2. Joe Manganiello

Behind the muscles and True Blood mystique is a man who runs a celebrity-studded Dungeons & Dragons campaign in a gothic dungeon in his basement. Joe Manganiello even launched his own D&D-inspired streetwear brand, Death Saves, and has served as an ambassador for the game. If charisma were a stat, he’d have a +10 modifier.

3. Rosario Dawson

It wasn’t just acting chops that landed her the role of Ahsoka Tano. Rosario Dawson is a real-life Star Wars superfan. She campaigned (and manifested) her casting via Twitter and knew the lore inside and out. Whether she’s wielding dual lightsabers or showing up at Comic-Con, Dawson proves fangirl dreams do come true.

4. Megan Fox

You might know her from Transformers, but Megan Fox’s true passion? Archaeology and ancient cultures. She’s publicly shared her obsession with ancient Sumerian texts and has even appeared in documentaries about historical mysteries. Beauty, brains and Babylonian tablets—celebrity nerds come in beautiful packages.

5. Vin Diesel

Before Fast & Furious, there was Dungeons & Dragons. Vin Diesel has been playing since the ’80s and even wrote the foreword for a D&D book. He named his character Melkor (very Tolkien of him) and once brought a castmate to tears by describing a battle campaign.

6. Felicia Day

Actress, writer, producer and all-around nerd royalty, Felicia Day became an internet icon thanks to The Guild, her web series about MMORPG players. She’s guested on Supernatural, written geeky memoirs and is basically the Hermione of the geek world: always brilliant, slightly chaotic and endlessly endearing

7. Timothée Chalamet

Before donning stillsuits in Dune, Chalamet was geeking out over World of Warcraft and Yu-Gi-Oh! on YouTube. He was also spotted playing with a Beyblade during a film premiere. He’s confessed to a childhood of MMORPGs and remains unapologetically nerdy—even after becoming the face of intergalactic cool.

8. Terry Crews

The face of celebrity nerds certainly is changing. This muscle-bound ball of joy loves anime, plays Doom with his son, and even built his own PC from scratch. Terry Crews is the rare action hero who can flex and debug at the same time. We admire actors who can multitask.
