Expect loads of festivals and events as the kids come out to play this June holidays

The month-long school holiday in June is certainly a time to jet off to a cooler climate to beat the heat, however, there is still much to do when you return from your trip.

Many of Singapore’s popular festivals have returned and museums are all geared up to entertain the influx of eager families and friend groups looking to soak in all that the month has to offer. 

Whether you’re eating your way through GastroBeats 2023, screaming your lungs out at BTS member Suga’s sold-out concert, or snapping photographs at i Light festival, home is where you probably want to be in June—in the blistering heat and all.

1. i Light Singapore 2023

What: If you’re one for nightlife, Singapore’s beloved light festival returns this year with a diverse display of energy-saving lightings. i Light Singapore 2023 explores the calm and serene colour blue. Festival goers can catch the mesmerising installation Glacier Dreams, and the foliage-like Symphony 1, of of which are inspired by this year’s naturalistic theme.

2. GastroBeats 2023

What: Held in conjunction with i Light Singapore, next door neighbour Gastrobeats is the perfect place to grab a bite after exploring the lights. The ultimate amalgamation of food and music, find over 50 homegrown food vendors serving up delectable modern renditions of your favourite traditional food. After, groove along to live music performed by local talents.

3. Gallery Children’s Biennale 2023

What: Now, this is what your kids would really like. The Gallery Children’s Biennale is part of the National Gallery Singapore’s efforts to champion creativity and education through art. This year, the Biennale is based upon discovering the values of care, respect, imagination, and collaboration. A total of 11 artworks await to welcome kids and adults to unleash their ideas and imagination.

4. Riding for the Disabled Association of Singapore Open House Charity Carnival

What: The Riding for the Disabled Association of Singapore’s (RDA) annual open house is back with its popular pony rides, tractor rides, and stable tours among many other exciting activities. The carnival is part of the organisation’s fundraising efforts to effectively aid the disabled community in Singapore. Soak in the many handicraft activities and wave hello to the RDA’s therapy horses and ponies while doing your part for charity.

5. Wellness Festival Singapore 2023

What: With Singapore’s reputation as an urban jungle, it can be heard to unwind and relax at times. The Wellness Festival Singapore gives you that gentle push to put you wellbeing first. Rejuvenate and embark on your personal wellness journey through spa retreats, animal yoga sessions, scent workshops, and rainforest trails among many other selections.
