Learn about the various ingredients used in the dish while refining your sushi-making techniques. Below, we share some of the best sushi courses and classes in Singapore.

1. At-Sunrice Global Chef Academy

If you’re looking for an intensive and in-depth sushi making course, this chef academy’s Prepare Sushi programme is for you. The five-day session introduces us to various kitchen tools, ingredients and techniques of sushi making. Learn more about the purpose of fanning rice, using the correct proportions of ingredients and the various condiments used. Get your hands on and learn to make recipes such as atsuyaki tamago (multi-layered omelet), temaki sushi (hand roll), futomaki sushi (sushi rolls) and more. At the end of the session, you will also receive a Certificate of Achievement.
2. Allspice Institute
Allspice Institute’s Prepare Sushi course teaches you more about various ingredients, recipes and techniques used in Japanese cuisine. The four-day course will teach you various recipes including tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), gunkan sushi (rice wrapped in seaweed and filled with toppings) and uramaki (sushi rolls). What’s more, you will also receive a Statement of Attainment in Asian cuisine preparation and cooking after the course.

Chef Amelia Seko’s latest Cooking With Friends workshop at Palate Sensation teaches you how to make salmon aburi sushi. Learn how to create this decadent dish as well as how to use the blow torch technique to provide the roll with a beautiful grilled char. On top of learning to make salmon aburi, chef Seko will also teach you various methods on making tofu miso soup.

4. D’Open Kitchen
D’Open Kitchen offers a range of halal-certified cooking and baking classes including mooncake, pizza, dim sum and sushi making. Its creative bento-making class teaches basic techniques and tricks to help you roll your own bite-sized creations.
