Pachinko

Based on the international bestseller by Min Jin-lee, Pachinko is the Korean family epic you cannot miss out on. An Apple TV+ original, it is set to premiere on May 25, 2022 with a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Lee Min-ho and Minari's Youn Yuh-jung. A narrative based on four generations of one family, Pachinko explores themes of culture, resilience, and immigration through time.

Trying

A feel-good comedy series, Trying portrays the story of couple Nikki and Jason, who want nothing more than to have a baby. But after a doctor delivers the heartbreaking news that they may be unable to conceive, the couple decide to opt for adoption. What follows is a beautiful story on life, family, friendship, and love that anyone—parents or not—can enjoy.

The Morning Show

Headlined by Hollywood A-listers such as Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon (who also played sisters on the hit series Friends), The Morning Show is an Apple TV+ original dramatic series that looks at the ins and outs of television. Competition is fierce and workplace politics run rampant in this two-season show that was officially been renewed for a third season just last month!

Ted Lasso

Think Emily in Paris, but with more football and instead of taking place in France, we somehow find ourselves in England.

Ted Lasso is a coach of an American college football team who now finds himself in a new job—coaching an English Premier League football team in the United Kingdom. Starring Jason Sudeikis, this sports comedy-drama is one of Apple TV+'s most beloved sitcoms. It's often buzzed about online, thanks to its great writing and the comedic talents of its actors and extras. But don't get this show wrong: it's not all about sports; it also explores themes of community and friendship, all while poking fun at ridiculous American stereotypes.

Dickinson

One of America's greatest poets, Emily Dickinson, finds herself the star of Dickinson, another Apple TV+ original that stars Hailee Steinfeld and Toby Huss. Set amid the grim backdrop of Civil War times, the show narrates how Dickinson copes with the times, all while juggling her literary talent and also her family and sexuality. Though it only has three seasons, it has managed to encapsulate a truly fascinating narrative on one of the world's most intriguing literary figures. A must-watch for any bibliophile!

Little America

Inspiring and heartwarming, the stories featured in Little America were all prompted by true-to-life narratives. Eight episodes, each of which centres around the story of various immigrants—from Asia, Africa, and all over the world—each of them exploring what it means to live the American dream.

Central Park

One is never too old for cartoons! A fun concept that marries musicals, comedy, and animation, Central Park is the cartoon series we didn't know we needed. It was created by the artists who also worked on Bob's Burgers (obvious given the animation style) and centres on people who work in the park. Despite being a beloved spot for many, eccentric businessperson Bitsy Brandenham despises the area and hopes to convert it into a condominium development. Season 2 was just released last March 2022.
