Take a trip across the causeway and explore some of the most exciting Ramadan bazaars in Johor Bahru

Ramadan is in full swing and along with the holy month comes bazaars and night markets. If you’ve already made your rounds at the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar and Kampong Gelam Ramadan Bazaar, why not head across the causeway to check out some of Johor Bahru’s most exciting night markets?

This month, Johor Bahru comes alive with over 100 Ramadan bazaars (yes, you read that right) offering a wide variety of festive goodies, Hari Raya outfits and more.

To help you pick from an extensive list of night markets, we share some of the most popular bazaars to visit across the causeway.

1. S’Mart Pandan Ramadan Bazaar

Situated along Jalan Pandan, this bazaar is a favourite among those who want to be immersed in a truly festive atmosphere while browsing a variety of traditional delights. The culinary spread is wide, featuring aromatic Nasi Biryani and succulent, spiced lamb that is cooked to tender perfection. For refreshment, the refreshing Air Katira remains a must-try alongside a variety of wok-hei-rich fried noodles. 

 

2. Bazaar Ramadan Taman Suria

Located just minutes from the CIQ, Taman Suria attracts a steady flow of people thanks to its array of Malay and Indian-Muslim cuisine. Also known as Southern City, this bazaar remains a seafood lover's dream for the 2026 season. Located near Giant Southern City, it is highly sought after for its artisanal approach to grilled delicacies and an energetic atmosphere defined by charcoal smoke. The destination is particularly famous for its grilled stingray and jumbo crabs, though those seeking meatier options will find the succulent, smoke-kissed Kambing Golek to be second to none.

3. Angsana Johor Bahru Mall Ramadan Bazaar

Angsana Johor Bahru Mall Ramadan Bazaar is one of Johor Bahru’s largest and most renowned bazaars. Situated next to Angsana Mall, this bazaar is known for being one of the most spacious bazaars around. Explore its stalls and find an extensive selection of vendors serving up snacks, traditional kueh and festive goodies. On top of food stalls, check out vendors selling beautiful Hari Raya outfits.

4. Taman Dahlia Ramadan Bazaar

A local favourite, Taman Dahlia Ramadan Bazaar is known for its delicious eats. Head to Jalan Persiaran Dahlia and pick from an extensive selection of classic fare, including satay, goreng kawah (fried noodles) and cendol.  

5. Bazaar Ramadan Taman Suria

Also known as Southern City, this bazaar is a seafood lover’s dream. Situated near Giant Southern City, this bazaar is loved for its grilled seafood, including sweet and spicy stingray, jumbo crabs, giant squid and more. On top of seafood, other proteins are available too, such as ayam golek (chicken marinated in traditional spices and roasted over charcoal) and kambing golek (lamb grilled over charcoal).

6. Taman Perling Ramadan Bazaar

This bazaar takes over Perling Mall’s outdoor carpark during the month of Ramadan. Despite being smaller than some of its counterparts, this bazaar offers a vibrant atmosphere and a diverse mix of local delicacies and innovative fare. Savour tantalising dishes from fiery sup tulang (bone marrow soup) to traditional kueh.

7. Bandar Baru Uda

Another local favourite, Bandar Baru Uda is a stone’s throw away from Angsana Mall. Located near Masjid Jamek Bandar Baru Uda, this bustling marketplace offers local and innovative treats. Take your pick from traditional dishes such as grilled chicken and satay as well as trendier snacks like matcha pisang cheese and more.
