The style icon's outfits, on view through April 29, includes a suit she wore in Hong Kong in 1989 and a clutch she carried when she she visited Aids patients in Washington DC
Here's your chance to see some of Diana, Princess of Wales's outfits and accessories up close.
Think a two-piece yellow and navy shirt suit by Catherine Walker, which she wore on a visit to the Red Cross headquarters in Tamar, Hong Kong, in 1989; a Murray Arbeid strapless tulle diamante star gown in midnight blue, worn by the princess to The Phantom of the Opera opening in London, as well as to dinner with the King Constantine of Greece at Claridge’s in London, both in 1986; and two clutches by Rayne, one of which she carried when she and First Lady Barbra Bush visited Aids patients in Washington DC in 1990, and another on while trying on a hand-painted silk kimono in Japan, in 1986.

The items are on display at Princess Diana’s Elegance and A Royal Collection, an exhibition which runs until April 29 at K11 Musea. It is the biggest collection of the Princess of Wales’s outfits and accessories to be auctioned since 1997, when she sold 79 of her dresses via Christie’s, just two months before her death. The Murray Arbeid gown, in particular, is estimated to fetch between US$200,000 and US$400,000. The exhibition is organised by Julien’s Auctions, which specialises in auctions of Hollywood film, music and fashion memorabilia.
After the Hong Kong show, the items will be exhibited in the Museum of Style Icons in Ireland, before going under auction in the same space. A portion of the proceeds will go to Muscular Dystrophy UK, a charity supporting more than 110,000 people suffering from the genetic condition.
