Loewe’s internationally recognised award returns for its 10th edition, inviting artisans from around the world to compete for a €50,000 prize
Applications are now open for the 10th edition of the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize, one of the fashion industry’s most prestigious awards celebrating contemporary craftsmanship. Open to artisans aged 18 and above working across craft-based disciplines, submissions will be accepted until October 15, 2026, with the winner to be announced in Europe in Spring 2027.
Established in 2016 and inspired by Loewe’s origins as an artisanal workshop, the annual prize recognises excellence and innovation across a broad spectrum of craft practices, from ceramics, textiles and jewellery to bookbinding, lacquer and paper. Over the past decade, it has become an important platform for preserving traditional techniques while championing new approaches to contemporary making.
The winning entry will receive €50,000, while two special mentions will each be awarded €5,000. All shortlisted works will be exhibited in Europe in Spring 2027 before the jury selects the final winners.

This year’s jury welcomes several new faces, including mixed-media artist Ibrahim Mahama, 2026 winner Jongjin Park and Loewe creative directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who join returning members from previous editions.
“The Craft Prize has become a platform for an ever-growing community of artists and artisans around the globe, showcasing work that inspires new ways of thinking about craft and its place in contemporary culture,” said Sheila Loewe, president of the Loewe Foundation. “Year on year, the prize has affirmed the infinite possibilities of craft and its capacity to evolve and surprise us.”

The announcement follows a record-setting 2026 edition, which attracted more than 5,100 submissions from 133 countries and regions. South Korean artist Jongjin Park took home the top prize for Strata of Illusion, a work combining paper and coloured porcelain slip, while special mentions were awarded to Italian goldsmith Graziano Visintin and Ghana's Baba Tree Master Weavers in collaboration with Spanish designer Álvaro Catalán de Ocón.
Applications for the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2027 can be submitted through the prize’s official website until October 15, 2026.
