After opening at Suria KLCC 24 years ago, the beloved bookstore opens a new chapter at Pavilion Damansara Heights

Known for its stylish department stores, a diverse line-up of eateries, beautiful decor and unique art installations, Pavilion Damansara Heights has welcomed its newest tenant, one that is sure to woo the book-loving crowds of Kuala Lumpur. 

Celebrating its grand opening at the mall on September 4, Books Kinokuniya Malaysia’s second full-scale book store is a study in neutral colour palettes, warm lighting and earthy elements.

Now, bibliophiles have the option to browse the latest bestsellers to their heart’s content, all without having to make their way to the city centre where the Japanese chain bookstore’s first Malaysian outlet is situated at Suria KLCC Shopping Centre.

Twenty-four years since Kinokuniya first opened at Suria KLCC, this beloved bookstore chain is now located on Level 4 of Pavilion Damansara Heights—an expansive space that is poised to become a cultural haven in Bukit Damansara.

Merging cafe culture with literary prestige, it is a place to discover, reconnect and be inspired. Conveniently accessible through a link-bridge at the Pusat Bandar Damansara MRT, the bookstore’s opening in September was greeted by a host of eager shoppers who queued up for almost an hour to await the store’s grand opening.

The new Kinokuniya bookstore offers a curated range of bestsellers as well as figurine collectibles and exclusive Japanese imports including a selection of manga, arts and craft titles, magazines and e-mooks. The store also boasts a beautiful range of stationery and merchandise, as well as hard-to-get niche titles.
