Live entertainment provider Film Concerts PH has announced an ambitious roster of symphonic productions, bringing beloved global franchises from Hollywood cinema to Japanese anime straight to the Manila stage
Founded in 2024, Film Concerts PH reimagines live entertainment in the Philippines by merging visual storytelling with live orchestral music. Through immersive productions featuring full symphony or chamber ensembles, the company offers audiences a new way to connect with iconic films, anime, and television series, whether performed in sync with on-screen visuals or as standalone symphonic experiences.
Central to these presentations is the Manila-based Filharmonika Orchestra, which was revived in 2024 under the leadership of resident conductor Gerard Salonga. By bringing together seasoned musicians, the orchestra serves as the primary vehicle for delivering these complex, emotionally driven scores. For its upcoming seasons, Film Concerts PH has designed a comprehensive calendar of events to be hosted at The Theatre at Solaire, catering to the diverse interests of local audiences.

After the success of its Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire In Concert, the musical marathon continues with The Symphonic World of Studio Ghibli, running from July 31 to August 2, at The Theatre at Solaire. This production is presented in partnership with The Japan Foundation, Manila, and is officially endorsed by Studio Ghibli. The concert serves as an official commemorative event for the Philippines-Japan Friendship Year 2026, marking the 70th anniversary of the normalisation of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
An 83-piece iteration of the Filharmonika Orchestra, under the baton of Salonga, will perform the unforgettable minimalist and orchestral scores of composer Joe Hisaishi. Over an approximately two-hour programme, audiences will journey through the whimsical melodies of Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and Kiki’s Delivery Service. The event will also feature the heartwarming themes of My Neighbour Totoro, complete with special live narration, and guests are invited to attend in themed attire inspired by the films.

Following the animation showcase, Film Concerts PH will transport audiences to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert on September 5 to 6. This production marks the triumphant conclusion of the original Star Wars trilogy. It follows the company’s previous successful presentations of A New Hope in 2024 and The Empire Strikes Back in 2025.
The orchestra will perform John Williams’s Grammy-winning score live and in perfect synchronisation with the full-length feature film on the big screen. The performance allows audiences to experience Luke Skywalker’s final climactic duel with Darth Vader, amplified by a live symphonic environment.

In October, the focus shifts to a sweeping adventure with Disney’s Moana Live-to-Film Concert, scheduled for October 3 to 4. The production features the film’s complete score and soundtrack performed live to the animated film. The concert highlights the collaborative work of Mark Mancina, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Polynesian composer Opetaia Foa’i, bringing fan-favourite songs like How Far I’ll Go and You’re Welcome to life.
Looking further ahead, Film Concerts PH will present a monumental event for anime enthusiasts with Attack on Titan: Symphony from Paradis on August 28 to 29, 2027, at The Theatre at Solaire. This production represents the first-ever officially licensed orchestral concert for the franchise in the Philippines.

Pivoting to an orchestra-first, concert-hall-focused format, this production stands in contrast to the previous rock-orchestra format utilised on the global tour. Curated by original series composers Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto, the performance features brand-new symphonic arrangements by Nobuko Toda.
The scale of the music requires a combined ensemble of over 100 musicians and vocalists, featuring the Filharmonika Orchestra alongside the world-renowned, UNESCO-recognised Philippine Madrigal Singers. Large-screen high-definition projections from the television series will accompany the live music to deliver the full dramatic impact of the iconic themes.
