Cover The “Beautiful Life” exhibition celebrates the creative spirit of modern Vietnamese fine arts

The exhibition “Beautiful Life” forms a graceful bridge across time, celebrating the heritage and luminous creative spirit of modern Vietnamese fine arts.

On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (10 October 1954–10 October 2025) and the centenary of the first course at the Indochina College of Fine Arts (22 October 1925–22 October 2025), now the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, and towards the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (23 November 2005–23 November 2025), the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter, in collaboration with May Living Design Joint Stock Company, presents the art exhibition Beautiful Life. The showcase honours the nation’s historical and cultural values while evoking pride in Vietnam’s enduring artistic identity.

The exhibition carries special significance, as it not only celebrates the Indochina Fine Arts Period (1925–1945) but also coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Indochina College of Fine Arts’ founding. The event further commemorates the 71st anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, a defining moment that affirms the resilience of culture and art in Hanoi’s millennia-old journey of civilisation.

Alongside works by artists who trained at the Indochina College of Fine Arts, the exhibition extends its scope to include the Resistance Course (1950–1954) and later generations from the Vietnam College of Fine Arts. Together, they offer the public a rich and panoramic view of modern Vietnamese art.
