Here's what you missed:

For 36 minutes, the Tatler community was transported to Europe to experience En Voyage with Claude Monet, a first-of-its-kind digital exhibition on the life and work of the French master painter.

A 360-degree sound, light and animation show kept guests, who included Nadia Harilela, Sandy Ip and Tasha Li, entranced by Monet’s masterpieces on a journey through Paris, London, the Netherlands and Norway, bringing nearly 200 of the impressionist’s paintings to life along the way.

It was an eventful week for Monet, to say the least: the exhibition opened just days after German protesters raising awareness for climate change threw mashed potatoes at Monet’s painting, which sat behind glass at the Barberini Museum in Potsdam, near Berlin. With all-digital displays and no food-flingers in sight, the event went by without a hitch in a grand opening of the first-ever immersive experience of Monet’s work in Hong Kong, and for many, the first time they had ever been able to analyse the artist’s techniques, thought process and vision up close. “I loved the immersive digital experience and the seamless blend of Monet’s most famous pieces,” said Jasmin Pang, founder of JSMP.

The futuristic format of En Voyage with Claude Monet pushes the boundaries of what an art exhibition can be, introducing newcomers to his work and inspiring people to learn more about the painter, with sections such as a virtual reality tour of his home in Giverny to bring to life the man behind the lilyponds.

Visit En Voyage with Claude Monet until January 15, 2023.
