Photographic Images and Matter: Japanese Prints of the 1970s
In '70s Japan, award-winning artist Tetsuya Noda pioneered a contemporary art movement by transforming photographic portraits of his family into prints to create unique artworks enhanced by the use of print blocks, paper and ink.
Presented by the Japanese Foundation of Kuala Lumpur, Photographic Images and Matter: Japanese Prints of the 1970s features works by Noda as well as other Japanese artists including Kosuke Kimura, Akira Matsumoto and Sakumi Hagiwara. This free exhibition is currently at Muzium & Galeri Tuanku Fauziah in Penang's Universiti Sains Malaysia from March 10 to April 8, 2022 before it travels to Sabah Art Gallery from April 18 to May 18, 2022.
