The second oldest university in the country, Universiti Sains Malaysia's (USM) campus stretches across 416.6 hectares of land. Depending on what time of the year it is, tree-lined boulevards here are scattered with flowers from a variety of Tecoma trees. Peaceful spots here include the grounds surrounding two adjoining lakes, Tasik Aman and Tasik Harapan—both serve as catchment areas to prevent from floods.
