It is the highest price on a per square foot basis ever achieved for an entire floor in Suntec City Tower 2

Most of us visit shopping malls to run errands, have a meal with friends and family or window shop. A Singapore permanent resident decided to turn things up a notch recently: by deciding to buy out the entire 30th floor of a Suntec City tower for a whopping SG$38.8 million. And the reason is that he liked the view.

The 11,743.52 square foot strata-titled office space is located at Suntec City Tower Two and was sold for a record-breaking SG$3,300 per square foot (psf), according to property agency Huttons Group on June 13.

This is the highest-ever transacted psf price for an entire floor in this building. It is also the largest transaction by quantum for Tower Two in 2022 so far.

“It is the highest price on a per square feet basis ever achieved for an entire floor in Suntec City Tower 2,” said Huttons’ statement.

The previous record was set when the 33rd floor of the same building was sold in January 2020. The 33rd floor has a floor area of 11,840.40 square feet and was sold for SG$38 million and a psf price of SG$3,209.

The seller of the 30th floor also made a profit of S$9.8 million from the transaction, according to Edgeprop, a local property portal. It reported that the floor was previously acquired for SG$29 million in 2016.

It was reported by Huttons Group's associate senior division director Aric Lim who brokered the sale, that the buyer of the floor liked the unblocked view of Marina Bay and that the renovations suited his immediate needs.

Currently, the purchased floor includes three units, two of which are occupied by a company. The remaining unit is for the buyer’s own use, according to Mr Lim.
