Boasting enviable views and a minimalist charm, this light-filled home that was the former abode of Kanye West is now on the market
Kanye West is bidding adieu to his first home in Hollywood Hills. The rapper, who recently received approval from a federal court to formally change his name to simply Ye, has recently listed the 4,214 sq ft property on the market for USD$3.699 million.
West first purchased the house in 2003 for USD $1.75 million, after the mainstream success of Slow Jamz, his first chart-topper. He continued to live in the bachelor pad for nearly 15 years before he moved in with his estranged wife Kim Kardashian into their much-talked-about minimalist monolith designed by Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt.

With clean lines and concrete architectural details, the three-bedroom house speaks to West’s preference for minimalismm. The Yeezy designer, who has long expressed an interest in architecture and design, decorated the abode with a predominantly pale palette.
The walls are clad in smooth Venetian plaster, giving the appearance of depth and movement with its iridescent finish. Lofty ceilings create an airy ambience, while hardwood floors in the living areas bring warmth and richness to the interiors.
